Visitor measurement & privacy

We count visible page loads and estimate devices per UTC day to understand public interest. Automatic polling, health checks and administrator pages do not count as visits.

Your browser stores one random daily identifier in first-party local storage. It changes each day. We store only a day-specific hash and aggregate counts, with no IP address, browser fingerprint, URL, query, referrer or cross-day tracking identifier. No analytics data goes to a third party.

Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control disables measurement. Denied local storage and automated browsers are also excluded. You can remove the first-party local storage entry named emergentia-visit in your browser.

Daily hashes are removed after the 30-day window by hourly cleanup; hourly view counts remain for 365 days. Only administrators can view aggregates. Unique visitor estimates describe devices, not people, and may be biased by blockers, private browsing and bots. Each device is capped at 20 views/day; collection is capped at 5,000 devices/day.
